Frosted Cherry Blossom Vase with etchall® - Designer Crafts Connection Linky Party Time!

It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another Designer Crafts Connection Linky Party!    This month our theme was "Mother's Day gifts".  I've been a cherry blossoms mood lately, having a blast with cherry blossom themed molds and silkscreens from CreateAlong.com.  I shared a set of Makin's Clay® cherry blossom barrettes yesterday here on my blog and have a Creatively Crafty video airing this week with a Makin's Clay® cherry blossoms pendant.  All these blossoms made me remember this vase I created back in 2014 using etchall® and DecoArt® Glass Paints.   It was originally shared as one of my Cindi's Simple Solutions projects on When Creativity Knocks, but I thought it was a perfect project to share for today's linky party as it would make a great Mother's Day gift!

Materials:
  • Square glass vase (Dollar Tree)
  • etchall® Etching Cream
  • DecoArt® Glass Paint Markers™ – Brown, Fuchsia
  • DecoArt® Americana® Frost Gloss Enamels® – Pink
  • Foam brush, small flat paintbrush

Instructions:
  1. Use foam brush to apply thick coat of etchall® cream over all sides of vase and let set 15 minutes.  Remove etching cream and return to bottle for re-use.  Rinse vase and let dry.
  2. Use brown DecoArt™ Glass Paint Marker™ to draw branch on vase, beginning at bottom right of front and extending upward and around sides.
  3. Use small flat paintbrush to make cherry blossoms on each branch tip by painting 5 round petals with pink Frost Gloss Enamel® paint.  Let dry.
  4. Add 5-6 fushcia dots to center of each painted flower using Glass Paint Marker™.
Per manufacturer instructions, let cure 4 days then bake in 275 degree oven for 30 minutes and let cool in oven.
