Welcome to my NEW BLOG!

For many years my projects could be found at my previous blog - www.fatcatcreations.blogspot.com. Since my business has evolved and is now known as Cindi McGee - Behind These Eyes™ instead of Cindi Bisson - Fat Cat Creations - I thought this was the perfect time to launch a new blog. Since I've been on this creative journey for over 16 years - I have a LOT of project links out there in cyberworld! If you are looking for a particular project you have found on Pinterest, Facebook, FaveCrafts, HomeTalk, Twitter, etc. and the link is not working for you, please feel free to email me at cdjb11@yahoo.com and I'll be sure to get you the new link to the instructions. Have a creative day and remember to DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!

CHA Finds!

I managed to sneak away from my WCK & Makin's Clay duties long enough to photograph a few items at CHA I just have to share with you - there are too many for a single post, so I'm dividing them up this time - today I'm sharing some of the great new products available from Expo International - their products are available retail at http://www.atreasurenest.com/. I just love these new beaded, suede butterflies - paradise for a texture junkie like me! Expo always offers the greatest trims and embellishments - their products are all about DETAILS and I love that about them! I think you'll notice a few trends as I share what I found in the coming days - there's a hint to one trend in this post! For a closer view, click on any of these images.
Dimensional sequin flowers (right) - love the color and depth of these! Feather flowers - Big and beautiful with beaded centers - just gorgeous! Can be used as an embellishment or as is for a broach. Ribbon petaled flowers (left)- these were shimmering in the lights and demanding attention.
It's all in the details again with these magnificant trims new to the Expo International line - rhinestones, glass beads, luxurious fringes....

Big, bold tassles + rich colors + interesting accents like feathers, glass & wood = FUN! Love these oversized tassles!
While not brand new this winter, these pretty butterflies were just lovely!
Stay tuned for more product photos from a variety of companies at Winter CHA in Anaheim, CA!

We taped 6 episodes of the Crazy Crafter's Countdown game show at the Elmer's booth, 13 tool hunt videos, & several episodes. I have lots of photos to share from CHA highlighting some of the products that caught my eye! I'll start sharing soon!

Here's the lastest episode of When Creativity Knocks! Heart shaped yo-yo's! As Ana would say - "Super Cute!" http://tinyurl.com/yfo5qsb

Holiday Tablescape

This year the school I work at decided to have the staff holiday party at the school, and hold a table decorating contest. Each grade level or group was allowed to decorate their table however they liked. An outside panel of judges was brought in to decide the winners and prizes were awarded. First Grade decided on a "White Christmas" theme - we all brought in our assorted china, silver pieces, crystal candlesticks, etc. I gathered a variety of other frosty elements, made place settings using snowflake ornaments with printed acetate names. We even had an instrumental version of "White Christmas" playing from a computer hidden beneath the table. The result was simply breathtaking! I'm happy to report that first grade tied for 1st Place!

I was also "drafted" as an honorary member of the Custodial Staff..... they had a bucket of supplies they planned to use as their centerpiece. But I had a vision..... The Snowman Clean-up Crew! I embellished every item in their bucket with balls, bows, snowflakes, and even stamped the toilet paper with snowflakes. My silly centerpiece took 3rd place!

More Sizzix Creativity!

It's Wednesday - time for another Sizzix Blog Hop! This week's project was created with another of Eileen Hull's Scoreboard Sizzix dies - it's a fabulous memo pad - I embellished mine using some of my own line of rubber stamps, added a bit of faux cheetah furry trim, patterned paper, and a few gemstones from Viva Decor. Follow the links below for more creative ideas using this die!
