Today the Designer Crafts Connection his having a Metallic Oly*Fun™ Blog Hop!  Find the links to all the projects shared by participating Designers on the Designer Craft Connection blog

The metallic shades of Oly*Fun™ just seemed perfect to me for making lightweight, flexible cuff bracelets!  I have several more ideas planned for the other metallic shades too!

Want to try it for yourself?   You could win ONE BOLT of Oly*Fun™ metallic in one of these colors! You must comment on my blog and on the DCC blog to be eligible; and visit the DCC blog to enter to win via the Rafflecopter widget.

Materials:

Gold Metallic Oly*Fun by Fairfield™
Beacon™ Fabri-Tac
Makin's® Ultimate Clay Machine™
Makin’s® Circle Cutter Set
Clearsnap® Designer Foils™ - Seaport, Lagoon, Goldmine, Silver Fog, Irish Eyes
JudiKins™ Diamond Glaze™
Velcro® Black Self-Adhesive Tape

Cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler

Instructions:

Measure and cut gold Oly*Fun™ fabric to 3 1/4 x 10” (adjust length according to wrist size).

Fold short ends up 1/4” and glue down with Fabri-Tac adhesive.  Fold over lengthwise to center.  Glue.  Fold opposed side upward and glue down.   Note:  Use adhesive sparingly to avoid showing through the Oly*Fun™.

Cut 1” square of black self-adhesive Velcro® closure.  Mount one half  on inside outer edge of fabric bracelet.  Mount opposite half on outside of opposite end of bracelet.

When closed, it reminded me of hammered metal at this point.  To make it have less “sharp” angles, work with fingers to soften the folds.

Roll Black Makin’s Clay® to setting #1 on Ultimate Clay Machine™ (about 1/8” thick).   Randomly apply assorted shades of Designer Foils.   Roll again to setting #2 (foiling will crackle slightly).

Use smallest circle cutter from 3 piece set to cut small circles from foiled clay.

Let dry 24 hours.

Apply several layers of Diamond Glaze™ to each piece, allowing glaze to dry between each layer.

Mount foiled clay discs to bracelet.
