Gel Press® "Back to Basics" Blog Hop - Sunshine Cards
It's time for another Gel Press® Blog Hop - this month we were tasked with creating something using a "Back to Basics" technique.
Using chalk paints with my Gel Press® plates is one of my favorite options for making prints. Their texture brayers beautifully and smoothly, and they are a perfect choice when you want to use rubber stamps to lift paint from the plate to create patterns as you get a cleaner, crisper image with this technique than with regular acrylics.
Be sure to hop on through and see what the other team members are sharing too!

Instructions:
Use paint brush to apply small spots of Delicate Chalky Finish Paint to 8x10” Gel Press® plate. Brayer to cover plate.
Place white paper over plate, press and pull print. Let dry.
Use paint brush to apply small spots of Heritage and Inheritance Chalky Finish Paint to 8x10” Gel Press® plate. Brayer to cover plate.
Place uninked sun stamps onto plate, lift paint and paint onto separate piece of paper. Clean stamps and repeat over entire surface of plate. (My camera seems to have sent the photo for this step to the outer limits somewhere.)
Place yellow printed paper over plate, press and pull print. Let dry.
Place paper with stamped suns onto plate and pull ghost print over stamped suns.
Cut coordinating card stock for cards. Cut pieces of printed papers slightly smaller than front of each card.
Ink edges of cards and prints with Adobe ink.
Use Beacon™ Zip Dry™ adhesive to mount prints centered on card fronts.
Ink “Sunshine” verse stamp with Adobe ink and stamp onto coordinating card stock twice. Trim around verses, ink edges.
Cut small strip of card stock to mount beneath one verse. Ink edges. Mount verse in center and add heart brads on either side of verse. Mount to upper right area of first card over print.
Cut a card stock mat to fit beneath second stamped verse. Ink edges, mount verse to upper left side of mat. Add gold heart brad in lower right area next to word LOVE.
Assemble second card.
I just love that ghost print, will have to try this technique with stamps!
