Welcome to my NEW BLOG!

Welcome to my NEW blog! For many years my projects could be found at my previous blog - www.fatcatcreations.blogspot.com. Since my business has evolved and is now known as Cindi McGee - Behind These Eyes™ instead of Cindi Bisson - Fat Cat Creations - I thought this was the perfect time to launch a new blog. Since I've been on this creative journey for almost 16 years - I have a LOT of project links out there in cyberworld! If you are looking for a particular project you have found on Pinterest, Facebook, FaveCrafts, HomeTalk, Twitter, etc. and the link is not working for you, please feel free to email me at cdjb11@yahoo.com and I'll be sure to get you the new link to the instructions. Have a creative day and remember to DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!

Masculine Autumn Birthday Card

Masculine Autumn Birthday Card

I currently have a project on the Gel Press® blog.  It is a Thanksgiving card featuring a number of techniques using the Gel Press® plate.  You can find the full instructions here.

I wanted to share the second version of this card here on my blog.  Finding the right cards for men can sometimes be tricky.  The techniques used on this card can easily work for creating a wide assortment of background papers with a masculine feel.  Add some stamped details highlighting what the recipient likes to do to customize your card.  In this case, it’s for someone who is an avid deer hunter, and as it is the season for this popular sport, it was a perfect time for the selected colors.  If your hunter prefers other game, simply change your stamped image for a bear, duck, etc.  Change up your paint colors and you can whip up similar cards for fishermen, etc.   The techniques used are quick and easy for even beginners to achieve.

Materials used for this version of the project are as follows:

Gel Press® 6” x 6” plate
DecoArt® Americana Decor™ Chalky Finish Paints - Restore, Cameo, Inheritence, Rustic, Timeless
Burlap fabric
Large unleafed tree rubber stamp
Deer rubber stamp
Brown ink pad
White, dark brown, light brown, rust card stock
Paper trimmer
Beacon Adhesives 3-in-1 Adhesive™
Brayer
Paint brushes

This is the card featured on the Gel Press® blog -
