EZ-De's Blog Hop - Quilted Tree Ornament


EZ- De’s made creating this faux quilted tree ornament quick & simple to achieve.

Materials: 

Ann Butler Designs EZ-De’s stamp sets- 1x3 Rails Set A #EZRA, Star Set A #EZSSA
ColorBox Crafter’s™ ink pads - Jungle, Bark
Linen fabric
Gold floss, needle, scissors
Blumenthal Lansing star buttons


Instructions: 

Ink 2 triangle stamps from star set with Limelight ink and stamp twice onto linen. 
Ink 3rd triangle stamp from star set with Jungle ink and stamp twice onto linen. 

Ink checkerboard rail stamp with Bark ink and stamp once onto linen. 

Heat set ink. 

Cut each stamped image from linen, leaving approximately 1/4” on all sides.

Gently fray edges around each image. 

Place two matching Limelight triangles back to back. 

Straight stitch around stamped image with gold floss, stitching two pieces together, leaving an opening in the bottom edge for the trunk (rail image). 

Place two Jungle triangles back to back.  Insert top of first set of triangle between bottom of Jungle stamped triangle approximately 1/2” as shown.  

Straight stitch around stamped image with gold floss, stitching two pieces together. 

Place second set of Limelight stamped triangles back to back.  Insert top of middle set of triangles between bottom approximately 1/2” as shown.  

Straight stitch around stamped image with gold floss, stitching two pieces together. 

Fold Bark stamped rail in half to create truck.  Insert into opening on bottom of bottom triangle, leaving approximately 1” extending.  

Straight stitch around stamped image with gold floss, stitching two pieces together. 


Use gold floss to stitch star buttons on front and back top of tree, add floss loop for hanging.
