Instructions:
Condition cobalt blue clay and roll to about 1/8” thick. Silkscreen peacock image using gold metallic paint. Let dry.
Use appropriate sized round cutter to cut out peacock image.
Roll Teal Pearl clay to a little less than 1/4”. Wet paisley deco disc and use to texture sheet, repeat until an area slightly larger than the peacock image has been textured (do not be concerned over lines caused by edges of deco disc, they will not show when pendant is assembled).
Apply a light touch of gold Metallic Lustre to the textured clay.
Use circle cutter slightly larger than blue silkscreened circle to cut disc from teal pearl textured clay.
Roll 18K gold clay to about 1/8”. Use circle cutter slightly larger than teal pearl disc to cut gold disc.
Center teal pearl textured disc on gold disc, then center peacock silkscreened disc on top.
Extrude 18K gold clay. Cut pieces about 1/4” from extruded strands. Roll into a ball, then roll to flatten one end and create a “teardrop” shape. Begin adding the teardrop pieces as shown and surround the blue peacock disc. (Thanks to Pritesh Dagur for sharing this technique in her 2018 Polymer Clay Adventure workshop!)
Bake according to manufacturer instructions. Let cool.
To make bail, roll 18K gold clay to about 1/8”. Use circle about 1” to cut disc.
Roll teal pearl clay to about 1/8” and texture with deco disc. Cut disc the same size, mount onto gold disc. Use smaller circle cutter to cut center from the disc. Use bake & bond to adhere the base of the open circle to the back top of the pendant. Place toothpick or similar under top half and bake according to manufacturer instructions. Apply metallic lustre to textured clay.
Apply UV Resin to peacock image. Let cure.
